Employee Spotlight: Angela Liu
Based in Singapore, Angela Liu joined the Converge team in May 2021. Her official title is Quality Assurance Associate Manager as she oversees APAC quality assurance and process improvement. Angela finds Converge’s environment to be dynamic and its culture collaborative and professional; “Converge is an amazing place to work. We have people from different regions and countries that come together to create a friendly, conducive working environment,” Angela shared.
Angela is driven by her love for learning and sharing experiences with others. She also enjoys the sense of accomplishment she feels when she delivers valuable solutions that result in a job well done. Her favorite challenge at Converge so far has been passing a particularly stringent evaluation audit which spanned two days. “The hard days are what make you stronger,” is a quote by Olympic gold medalist, Aly Raisman; this is Angela’s favorite quote. Angela has aided Converge in passing several certification audits such as ISO 9001, ANSI ESD S20.20, and many others. Her biggest inspiration within the company comes from Dwight Gerardi, her manager. “Angela’s background, knowledge, work ethic, and professionalism make her a valuable member of the Converge quality team,” Dwight proclaimed. According to Angela, Dwight’s confidence and mentorship motivate her and she is incredibly grateful for his guidance.
Angela connects with Converge’s mission to drive customer satisfaction through defect prevention and risk mitigation, while also being cost-effective and sustainable. “We are very customer-focused and emphasize quality. I strive to mitigate risks and protect our supply chain,” Angela proudly stated. Angela views quality and customer centricity as the foundation for satisfying customers’ needs and retaining their business. “Quality influences the company’s reputation and a strong reputation for quality can be an important differentiation in competitive markets,” she stated.
Outside of Converge
In her off-time, Angela enjoys spending time with her children. Her favorite line from a movie, “Great men are not born great. They grow great,” comes from The Godfather. She has personal goals to take part in volunteer-work and help those in need, travel around the world, run a marathon, and pursue financial independence to retire early.
