Could AI Be the Future of Automotives?

As artificial intelligence (AI) assistant prominence rises, automotive manufacturers are beginning to design ways to implement the technology in automotives and EVs. While voice-command functions and self-driving cars are nothing new, ChatGPT (the latest machine learning, “large language” AI model is inspiring manufacturers to consider the practical business applications for this technology.

While some automotive dealers are using AI (ChatGPT in some cases) to sell cars online, others are exploring possible usage in the inner functions of their vehicles. Moreover, many are wondering if this may eventually replace the owner’s manual traditionally in cars.

Though there are many benefits to using AI tools like ChatGPT to further improve functionality and safety in vehicles, there also comes a tradeoff of increased cost to engineer these capabilities and subsequently implement them.

All of this adds up to one thing: the automotive and EV industries are evolving quickly and will be two industries to keep a close eye on in the coming months.
