Hong Kong Halts Operations Amid Typhoon 

HONG KONG, CHINA, July 17, 2023 – Earlier today, a Signal 8 storm warning was announced in Hong Kong, as Typhoon Talim struck “Asia’s World City.” The city’s $5.2 trillion stock market was shut down and the majority of its daily operations were halted due to Talim’s intense winds and rain. Additionally, three cross-sea bridges were closed and numerous flights were canceled. Thus far, there have been no reports of flooding or landslides. The city has also lowered the Signal 8 storm warning down to Signal 3. Typhoon Talim is expected to depart the region mid-week.
