To ensure that hard drives are properly sanitized and erased to the most stringent standards, Converge has assembled one of the most technologically advanced data erasure labs in the business. Our hard drive erasure process is designed to ensure your company’s safety through 100% data eradication to meet DoD 5220.22-M multipass standards.

Hard drives are erased while they’re either still in the system or out of the system, on our commercial erasure stations. Capabilities range from single to bulk erasure schemes utilizing our industry-leading multiport test systems.

To ensure the highest level of quality, all drives are system audited for successful erasure, with random samples removed for further stand-alone compliance audits. Additionally, periodic random sampling is conducted and drives are sent to a third-party audit firm to conduct a forensic audit to ensure proper erasure.

At Converge we have a zero “bad-sector” tolerance policy, meaning if we cannot overwrite a sector, we assume it contains sensitive data, fail the drive, and destroy it through our drive destruction process. This policy is designed to protect your data and organization from any potential harm. Certificates of erasure and destruction are issued for your permanent records.

Once a drive has been fully erased and passes our inspection process, remarketing may be an option to regain residual value for your system. Utilizing our global trading network, we will derive maximum value from your obsolete equipment. If remarketing is not an option, we will ensure that your drives are properly destroyed through our destruction process.
